The human biological phenomena of commercial relevant content is the most powerful and sustained system of propaganda in human history and its cumulative cultural effects, unless quickly checked, will be responsible for destroying the world as we know it.

Debt versus Global Warming!

Both caused by man's greed and wasteful use of resources.

It seems there are those who think polluting the atmosphere, the earth and poisoning the earhlings with all their junk food is the right thing to do as long they are making huge profits and lining their own pockets. Why not pollute the moon as well. Oopps, sorry just heard the latest news we'll keep that one up our sleeve.

Tackling climate change doesn't have to effect the economy of any country. Being resourceful saves money and makes society appreciate those resources. If you could generate your own electricity from renewable energy sources, the man in the street would seize the opportunity especially if it would empower them to be in charge of their own energy efficiency thus saving money at the same time. The green industry could produce millions of much needed jobs giving economies around the world a much needed boost.

The choice is ours. Stay greedy and selfish or secure the future of the planet for us and future generations!

Thanks.... a most interesting site!!

This post highlights the problem with our country that's been developing over the last century and a half. We've abandoned the federalism established by our forefathers (namely, a very limited and transparent federal government that only does/regulates things that states cannot reasonably do/regulate for themselves, like currency, interstate commerce, etc.).

The federal government has indeed become the tyrannical monster (or as you put it, "terrorist threat to the public") that the federalist papers warned of.

"If individuals cause harm to others then government is rightfully obligated to punish or intervene?"
If Person A inflicts non-consensual physical harm to Person B, the State, as an institution of Society, is obligated to intervene because Person B's liberty is infringed by Person A.

"If someone chooses to harm themselves without negative intentions of others in a society then that’s legit?"
If a person chooses to harm themselves, that's a bad thing, but the State has no legitimate reason to interfere.

This is according to JS Mill.
